“I didn’t want to be in the sport anymore …
I didn’t want to be alive anymore.”

The Norse in Sports and Athletics

The Norse is an impartial and secure solution where objectivity and trust are required.

We handle sensitive personal and health information while ensuring that the employer does not have access to sensitive information at the individual level. We facilitate low-threshold access to those who can assist athletes in a difficult and complex situation.

We provide better knowledge and measure the effectiveness of interventions.

Emotional vulnerability is one of many common threats to the longevity of a top athlete. Among players in Norwegian top league football, 43% have reported anxiety/depression.

Seeking help can lead to an increased risk of losing playing time or,worst case scenario, the loss of contract with the employer. The negative consequences of stigma and being deemed as weak, outweighs the incentive to seek help.

Injuries, competitive pressure, psychosocial stress factors, performance issues, and aging are risk factors for developing mental disorders in top athletes.
